Ingredients

  • 3 8 oz. cans Pillsbury Sweet Hawaiian Crescent Rolls
  • 1 5 oz. package Portuguese sausage, diced
  • 1/2 block Unsalted butter, cut into slices
  • 8 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Furikake
  • 3 tablespoons Green onions, sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8-inch round cake pan or 8 x 8-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the Portuguese sausage in a skillet over medium heat until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook briefly, about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Add the butter and allow it to melt.
  • Open the roll tubes one at a time, slice the logs into 8 even slices and place them in a large bowl.
  • In the bowl with the crescent roll pieces, add in the Portuguese sausage/garlic/butter mix, half of the Parmesan cheese, 2 tablespoons of the furikake and green onions. Toss until evenly mixed and the dough slices are evenly coated with butter and cheese.
  • Place the dough pieces a few at a time into the prepared pan, making sure they reach all the way into the corners. As you go, gently press the pieces together so the Portuguese sausage gets tucked in and sticks to the dough.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese and additional furikake.
  • Bake until puffed, golden brown, and cooked through, about 35-40 minutes. Check the center for doneness before removing from the oven. The center should be springy to the touch and the crust golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Serve in the pan or remove. Just before serving, sprinkle more cheese on the bread.
