Who can participate in Give Aloha?
All Hawaii 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations including churches, athletic teams and public schools are invited to participate. Groups that are not registered as a 501 (c)(3) organization may register through a 501 (c)(3) sponsoring agency that is affiliated with the group. Foodland reserves the right to refuse participation of any nonprofit organization.
How do we participate?
Organizations must register with Foodland during the open registration period and sign a charitable sales promotion consent form through the Hawaii Attorney General’s Office. Further registration instructions will be provided to interested organizations in May.
When do we register?
The open registration period is from May to mid-July.
Is there a donation limit per customer?
Customers may make a donation to one or more organizations, up to $249 per organization, per Maika’i card. Donations exceeding $249 per person, per organization will not be matched.
Customers must make their donation using their own Maika’i Card. Customers may not make a donation on behalf of others nor use another person’s Maika’i Card to make a donation for them.
How much does Foodland match?
This year, Foodland will match each donation with at least $250,000 for all organizations combined. The matching gift will be divided proportionately among all participating organizations.
