Lei Design by Dillyn Lietzke
Dillyn is the owner of PALAI and shares her passion for Native Hawaiian plants and her home through lei making.
Her lei design pays homage to growing up in Hawaii, featuring favorite childhood snacks like Enjoy Premium Mixed Arare, Mauna Loa Onion & Garlic Mac Nuts and Diamond Bakery Cream Crackers tucked into a cotton meat netting that keeps sustainability in mind. It’s tied together with a palaka bow which gives the lei a feeling of home.
Lei Design by ISLAND-BOY
Andrew Mau is a Honolulu-based designer and floral enthusiast. He owns ISLAND-BOY, a Kaimuki shop known for its curated goods.
His lei honors the traditional candy lei he grew up receiving and features his favorite White Rabbit candy. The design incorporates multiple colors of lei thread and satin ribbon, while its tassel detail adds a playful movement – making it just as fun to wear as it is to give.
Lei Design by Jana Lam
Jana Lam is a Honolulu based artist whose work is inspired by her island home.
Her “You Got the Gravy” lei features local favorite seasoning packets, giving graduates a taste of home. It’s also made of colorful silk flowers, wooden beads and custom “Jana Lam fabric beads.” This one-of-a-kind lei is designed to be taken apart and re-tied into a forever lei so that it can be cherished long after graduation.
Lei Design by Kalani Pe’a
Kalani is a Grammy Award-winning singer and song writer from Maui who shares the beauty of Hawaii through his music.
His lei embodies what it means to “celebrate your grad local style,” featuring a mouthwatering mix of Hawaii favorites like NOM’s Li Hing Lemon Peel Gummy Bears, Mauna Loa Honey Roasted Mac Nuts, Gummy Pineapples and more wrapped in vibrant purple ribbons. It’s as stunning to look at as it is fun to snack on.
