Cranberry Apple Stuffing
Pairs perfectly with your favorite roast turkey
Ingredients
- 6 bacon, diced
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casing removed
- 1 onion, diced 1/8"
- 2 large celery rib, diced 1/8"
- 0.5 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 cup green onions, sliced
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 2 granny smith apples, cored and cut into 1/4" dice
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 8 cups sweet bread, diced 1/2" and toasted
- 0.25 pound butter
- 3 cups turkey or chicken broth
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium sauté‚ pan, sweat bacon, and pork sausage.
- When cooked through, add in onion and celery.
- Cook for 3 minutes.
- Add in parsley, green onions, cranberries, apples, cinnamon and poultry seasoning.
- Add cooked ingredients (fat and all) to the sweet bread and fold.
- Moisten with butter and broth to taste, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Place in an oven proof pan and bake for 45 minutes covered.
