Garlic Chicken

Chef Keoni Chang shows us this secret recipe for amazing Garlic Chicken!

Ingredients  

  • header chicken
  • 3 pound chicken thighs, boneless, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1.5 cup flour
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • header Garlic sauce
  • 2 cup Aloha shoyu (Aloha is less salty)
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped garlic
  • 0.5 cup chopped green onion
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes

Instructions 

  1. Combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, simmer until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens. Set aside.
  2. Take some of the cooled sauce and marinate the chicken.
  3. In a sauce pot, heat oil to 350F.
  4. Combine flour and cornstarch. Season the flour mix with salt and pepper. Dredge chicken in flour mix & deep fry until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F.
  5. Toss in sauce and serve.
