Roy's Char Siu Style Baby Back Ribs

Roy's Char Siu Style Baby Back Ribs

Ingredients

2 cups
sugar
1⁄2 cup
brown sugar
4 tablespoons
salt
1⁄4 cup
honey
2 tablespoons
fresh gingerm grated
2 tablespoons
Chinese 5 spice
1 ounce
bourbon
2 tablespoons
red food coloring
3 pounds
rack of baby back pork ribs or pork spare ribs

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl rub together all of the marinade ingredients until well combined.
  2. Coat ribs well on all sides and allow to marinate for at least 6 hours in refrigerator or overnight is better.
  3. The marinade will begin to melt, keep ribs covered with char siu marinade.
  4. Heat oven to 250°.
  5. Prepare a baking pan lined with foil.
  6. Use a metal baking rack that fits in the baking pan.
  7. Place marinated baby back ribs on the metal rack.
  8. Pour excess marinade on ribs.
  9. Place in the oven on the lowest rack.
  10. Bake slowly for approximately 1 hour or until the meat become fork tender (If ribs start to become too dark, cover loosely with foil).
  11. Remove from oven and let cool slight before cutting.
