Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 0.25 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound lean turkey meat
  • 26 ounces tomato sauce or store-bought marinara sauce
  • 1 pound cooked pasta

Instructions

Turkey Meatballs with Tomato Sauce

  1. Add the onion, garlic, egg, milk, bread crumbs, ketchup, Parmesan, salt and pepper to a large bowl and blend. Mix in the turkey. Shape the turkey mixture into 2 inch-diameter meatballs. Reserve on a plate.
  2. Heat the tomato sauce and bring to a slow simmer. Place all the meatballs into the pan. Turn the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and the meatballs cook through, about 15 to 20 minutes. Adjust for seasoning.
  3. You may add pasta to the sauce and heat, or pour sauce over hot pasta and garnish with meatballs and parmesan.
