Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 cup milk
- 0.25 cup dried bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 0.25 cup grated parmesan
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 pound lean turkey meat
- 26 ounces tomato sauce or store-bought marinara sauce
- 1 pound cooked pasta
Instructions
Turkey Meatballs with Tomato Sauce
- Add the onion, garlic, egg, milk, bread crumbs, ketchup, Parmesan, salt and pepper to a large bowl and blend. Mix in the turkey. Shape the turkey mixture into 2 inch-diameter meatballs. Reserve on a plate.
- Heat the tomato sauce and bring to a slow simmer. Place all the meatballs into the pan. Turn the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and the meatballs cook through, about 15 to 20 minutes. Adjust for seasoning.
- You may add pasta to the sauce and heat, or pour sauce over hot pasta and garnish with meatballs and parmesan.
