Foodland Farms Pearl City: New Store, Same Family

Attention, shoppers! In case you missed the good news, Foodland Farms Pearl City is now open!

The grand opening on Wednesday, October 30, came after a month of anticipation following the closure of the original Foodland Pearl City location, which served the nearby community for more than 60 years.

Reusable bags in hand, hundreds of eager customers gathered in masses around the storefront excited to catch a glimpse of their new neighborhood supermarket, talk story with Foodland CEO and Chairman Jenai S. Wall and shop the store’s new and exclusive offerings designed especially for Pearl City.

One thing’s for sure, this isn’t your grandmother’s Foodland. The new store blends everything Pearl City residents loved about their former Foodland with Foodland Farms’ modern, reimagined, yet always distinctly local food shopping and dining experiences.

Pau Hana

Welcome to the in-store bar that truly has something for everyone: sports on TV, a wide selection of local craft beers on draught, wines, Pearl City-themed craft cocktails and a mouthwatering menu of local grinds.

The Class Reunion

Show your Pearl City pride with The Class Reunion. Inspired by Pearl City High School and created by our corporate mixologist and Pearl City native Matt Rosskopf, this purple cocktail is made with Empress 1908 Gin, Carpano Bianco and Stoli Elit Vodka. Other must-try drinks on the menu include The Peninsula, the Pearl Harbor Mule with lychee boba and the Bumper to Bumper Bloody Maria, garnished with a traffic jam of pipikaula and cucumbers.

But the food menu at the bar, imagined by Foodland’s culinary team, is just as noteworthy as the cocktails. It’s so good, it’ll give you [fried] chicken skin…which is on the menu and already proving to be a customer favorite. There’s also Smoked Meat Pizza, Korean Chicken Sandwich, Thai Lemongrass Mochiko Chicken and so much more. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or want to make a day of it, there’s something on the menu to feed your hunger.

Okazuya

In an effort to memorialize the dying art of okazuya, the culinary team put together a spread of the classic takeout box foods like nori chicken, shoyu pork, corned beef hash patties, shrimp and vegetable tempura, assorted musubi, the list goes on and on. Everything is served fresh, hot and a la carte.
