Green Beans with Sesame, Red Chili and Garlic

Ingredients  

  • 1 pound green beans, cleaned
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 red jalapeños, seeded and sliced 1/16 inch
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced paper-thin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper

Instructions 

  1. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil, add salt, and blanch the green beans for 3 minutes.
  2. While the beans are blanching, heat a pan to medium high with the sesame oil.
  3. Add in jalapeño, garlic, salt and pepper. (The jalapeño and garlic should sizzle but not burn.)
  4. Cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Drain green beans and add to the pan.
  6. Toss for 1 minute, then plate.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds.
