Ingredients
- 1/2 pound Strawberries
- 2 tablespoons Orange flavored liqueur OR 1/2 tablespoon orange zest + 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1/2 cup Confectionary sugar (split into 2 equal portions)
- 1/4 cup Sour cream
- 1/2 cup Whipping cream
- Kosher salt
- Mint leaves (optional)
- Crumbled Diamond Head Bakery Shortbread Cookies (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and drain strawberries thoroughly. Remove stems, halve the strawberries, and place them in a mixing bowl. Combine with ¼ cup of confectionery sugar, orange-flavored liqueur, and a pinch of salt (approximately ¼ tsp). Mix well and allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes to ensure the sugar dissolves.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine whipping cream and ¼ cup of confectionery sugar. Utilizing a hand mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in ¼ cup of sour cream using a rubber spatula until thoroughly combined. Transfer the mixture to the refrigerator and allow it to set for 10 minutes.
- Stir the strawberries and transfer them to a serving dish. Top with the prepared cream and garnish with optional toppings as desired.
