Tender Smoky Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs

Tender Smoky Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs
"These baked ribs are super tender and ridiculously easy to make! This method gives you that smoky, BBQ flavor fix - no grill required." - Philip Lemoine, Foodland Ambassador, Instagram: @Philip_Lemoine
Ingredients
- 1 rack Pork spareribs
- Da Kine Hawaiian Smokey Rub (or your favorite BBQ rub)
- Maika'i Korean BBQ Sauce
- Liquid smoke, to taste
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Start by trimming any loose or hanging pieces off your spareribs—those bits can burn easily. (Pro tip: save the trimmings! Freeze them and use them later for pork adobo.)
- Flip the ribs over and remove the silver skin (thin membrane on the back side along the bones). This helps the seasoning soak in and makes the ribs more tender.
- Rub a few dashes of liquid smoke over the ribs. This acts as both a binder and a way to add that smoky flavor without a grill.
- Generously coat the ribs on all sides with Da Kine Hawaiian Smokey Rub pressing it in firmly so it sticks.
- Place the ribs on a sheet pan and bake in a preheated 250°F oven for about 3 hours or until they reach an internal temperature of 205°F. This is the sweet spot where the ribs become ultra tender.
- Once cooked, slather the ribs with Maika‘i Korean BBQ Sauce.
- Turn the oven up to 400°F return the ribs to the oven, and bake for another 5–10 minutes, just until the sauce becomes tacky and sticks beautifully to the meat.
- Slice between the bones plate the ribs, and garnish with chopped green onions. Enjoy!
