Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
- chicken
- 3 pounds chicken thighs, boneless, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
- 1.5 cups flour
- 0.5 cup cornstarch
- salt and pepper to taste
- Garlic sauce
- 2 cups Aloha shoyu (Aloha is less salty)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup chopped garlic
- 0.5 cup chopped green onion
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- vegetable oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, simmer until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens. Set aside.
- Take some of the cooled sauce and marinate the chicken.
- In a sauce pot, heat oil to 350F.
- Combine flour and cornstarch. Season the flour mix with salt and pepper. Dredge chicken in flour mix & deep fry until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F.
- Toss in sauce and serve.
