Kalua Pork Chow Fun

Kalua Pork Chow Fun
“Chow Fun has been one of my FAVORITE dishes since I was a kid. I typically make this recipe using ground turkey, but when I’m in the mood for something extra tasty I love using Kalua Pork!” - Chaslee Ikawa, Foodland

Kalua Pork Chow Fun

Summary

Yield
8 Servings

Ingredients

1 package
Kalua Pork (Recommended Brands: Keoki's, Mays)
4 packages
chow fun noodles (Recommendation: Sun Noodle)
1 package
chop suey mix (Recommendation: Taro Brand)
2 tablespoons
oyster sauce
3 tablespoons
shoyu

garlic salt & pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon
sesame oil (optional)
1 teaspoon
neutral oil of your choice

green onion (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large cooking pan, heat neutral oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add kalua pork and cook until pork softens.
  3. Add garlic salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Add chow fun noodles, oyster sauce and shoyu. Gently toss together so both the kalua pork and noodles are coated. Continue to cook until noodles start to soften slightly.
  5. Add in the chop suey mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. If more flavor is desired, you can add another tablespoon of oyster sauce and/or shoyu.
  7. Add sesame oil and a pinch of pepper. Gently stir to combine. If you don’t enjoy the taste of sesame oil, you can it omit from the recipe.
  8. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with green onions and serve.
