Pulehu Steak

Ingredients
- 2 Boneless ribeye steaks
- 3 tablespoons Hawaiian salt or salt
- 1 tablespoon ‘Alaea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- Hawaiian seasoning salt
- Avocado or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Trim excess fat along the edge of the steak. This will help prevent grill flare ups and over charring. Pat the steak dry. Brush with oil
- For the Hawaiian seasoning salt: To a small bowl add Hawaiian salt, ‘alaea salt, garlic powder, ginger powder, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
- Liberally season the steak with about 2 teaspoons of Hawaiian seasoning salt. Set aside and allow to rest 20 - 30min prior to grilling.
- Heat half of the grill (if using charcoal/wood, place on half the grill, or if using burners light ½ of the burners only) to high, about 500F.
- Place steaks directly over the flame and sear for 3-5 minutes. Flip and repeat on the other side.
- Move steak to the unlight side of the grill, close the lid, and cook until desired doneness temperature. For rare 120F, medium rare 130F, medium 135F, medium well 140F, and well done 150F.
- Remove steaks from the grill and place on a cutting board. Tent with a piece of foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
