Sauteed Hamakua Ali'i Mushrooms

The simple secret to this delicious dish is a hot pan. Makes a great side dish on its own, or use it for anything from a bruschetta appetizer or steak entrée topping to a superb omelet filling.

Ingredients  

  • 2 ounces packages Hamakua Ali'i Mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley, rough chopped
  • fresh cracked pepper, to taste
  • sea salt, to taste

Instructions 

  1. Slice mushrooms length-wise in quarters.
  2. Heat a sauté pan on high heat for approximately 2 minutes.
  3. Add butter. When butter is melted and begins to foam, add mushrooms. Cook mushrooms, stirring or tossing occasionally until golden brown.
  4. Add garlic, stir. Let cook for another 30 seconds then squeeze in lemon juice.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and finish with parsley.
